47+ Diesel 3 Wire Alternator Diagram Background. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for a gm 3 wire alternator? My original yanmar 3gm engine had a 35 amp hitachi alternator with a e (ground), b (batter +) and a l (lamp) connection.

This goes to the junction of the starter and battery cable. If your alternator does not charge, or your alternator was overcharging, it will most likely fail. To make a connection the diagram should show a dot and to not make a connection the wire should show a half circle at the intersection. Yanmar marine diesel enginesines service manual.
